White-tailed deer
Odocoileus virgianus
White-tailed deer was introduced to Finland on the 1930s and the population was started from only 5 animals. Today whitetailed-deer is widespread throghout the southwestern part of Finland, yearly bag exeeding 20.000 animals.
Hunting of white-tails is mainly conducted from highseats near feeding grounds and passing places, yet driven hunting using dachshounds is gaining popularity.
